I don't know Eric Adams from Grizzly Adams, but is he really the big threat to the rule of law in America right now?
Your Sunday read
If you expected to see Eric Adams picture above, fuhgeddaboudit. We've seen enough of that guy's mug. If you don't recognize the actual guy pictured, please contact Houston immediately. We may have a problem.
I cover some of SCOTUS Judge Clarence Thomas's gross criminality in Is Clarence Thomas the best kept slave in U.S. history? but it’s probably just the tip of the iceberg.
With that analogy in mind, the NYC DAs, FBI, etc, etc running around yelling that Nobody is above the law are impotent, little pissants rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. Plenty of people are above the law and if they don't know that by now, they wasted their student loans and/or daddy's money learning nothing.
While many men live above the law, Clarence Thomas lives on a different plane altogether, possibly even a different planet. Maybe a different galaxy, but even the closest of those is some 25,000 light years away.
Little known fact: Andromeda, the closest major galaxy to our Milky Way is 25 MILLION light years away.
The main difference between Clarence Thomas and say, Bill Cosby or O.J. Simpson is that Thomas is subject to nothing; no laws, no ethics, not even a sense of decency or shame.
Largesse provided by sociopathic, Right wing greed mongers is legendary. They use their billions to grow more billions, money that can't be spent in 100 generations and they use twisted, cynical, biblical bullshit to justify it all.
Let's face it: If pro-life was really pro-life, 20 Sandy Hook students would have started college this fall.
The lopsided, corrupt Supreme Court of the United States has carved out a special niche for itself in American culture. For reasons you have to read very carefully, they have decided that they, UNLIKE EVERY OTHER FEDERAL BENCH need no oversight, no ethical responsibility and certainly, no kind of enforcement for the violation of everything we scurrying sand crabs once thought of as the rule of law.
In 2013, SCOTUS decided that voter discrimination in America no longer exists and dumped the Voting Rights Act into a shredder at a now-defunct Staples store. Two years ago, an even more corrupt Court decided women really didn't have a right to health care self-determination and ended a 50-year precedent of a constitutionally-guaranteed right.
Remember that right you once had? Nevermind.
For the record, you will never see a protest at a urologist's office where men are getting vasectomies. Apparently, we can be trusted to make decisions about our own health care.
Speaker of the United States House of Representative, second in the line of presidential succession, lying liar and miscreant who secretly hopes the priest who raped him dies, Mike Johnson (R-MO) was a chief architect of the January 6, 2021 violent insurrection and attempts to overturn a free, fair and secure election and overthrow our government.
Johnson now makes two very stunning proclamations:
He says that and he alone is in charge of federal elections and that he wants to investigate Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for interference in the coming 2024 election.
I wish I could unpack that for you, but I’m going to have to just sign off wishing you good luck. These hypocrites feel no shame whatsoever spreading their lies like Nutella on pancakes and I don’t see a sane resolution.
This year, Chief Justice John Roberts went over and above in his service to his rich masters, giving convicted felon, Donnie Trump absolute immunity from not only criminal prosecution, but criminal INVESTIGATION. I wrote about that in Did John Roberts grant Donnie Trump absolute immunity?
Friends, we're getting too old to play this game. Any pretense of the rule of law in America is just that. A pretense.
I have no reason not to believe that Eric Adams committed every crime with which he has been charged, maybe even a lot more. Like you though, I haven't seen any of the evidence, so any opinion I might offer at this point would be completely uninformed.
What I do know is that Eric Adams' crimes will have limited impact on the rule of law in America. Compared to bought-and-paid-for Supreme Court judges doing the bidding of corrupt, billionaire owner-operators, literally destroying the foundation of America, Eric Adams is like a snowflake in a blizzard.
Toss in a potential Liar-in-Chief with no legal guardrails, no shame, no oversight, no checks, no balances and a thirst for vengeance and I'd say that we might want to start mourning the rule of law sooner rather than later.
Then again, if you’ve been Sitting on the Dock of the Bay with Otis Redding, you may have noticed that particular ship sailing off long ago.
