Can we ever separate the stupid people from their ignorance?

Marjorie Traitor Greene (R-GA) announced that this week's total eclipse of the sun was a sign from God.

As you may know, there's a total eclipse of the sun about every 18 months, they're just rarely visible in the United States. It's a routine event, like sunset, sunrise, the changing of the seasons and farting.

Are all of those signs too, and what are they supposed to be telling us?

An acquaintance of ours recently told us about his son's new job, a change he said his son had to make because his customers in California were closing down due to the new $20/hr minimum wage.

At the time this acquaintance told us about these mass closures, the law had only been in effect for less than 48 hours. Not much time for anyone to go out of business.

Moreover, the $20/hr law only affects businesses with at least 60 locations nationwide and none of them have boarded up their shops as of this writing.

It's a great anti-Democratic talking point though and helps maintain that anti-Democratic rage on which they thrive. It's a beautiful thing when your world view can be reinforced on an hourly basis, especially when facts don't count. If they hear it on Fox Angertainment, IT'S A FACT.

The latest one from Fox’s Sean Hannity is that Democrats are to blame for Arizona’s Republican Supreme Court upholding an 1864 abortion ban.

While it’s true that Governor Katie Hobbs is a Democrat, Arizona’s legislature is controlled by Republicans who have TWICE blocked attempts to protect women and children from Arizona’s draconian laws.

The problem with stupid people is that they're not smart enough to know how stupid they are. Worse, they tend to collectively suffer from the Dunning-Kruger effect, a cognitive bias in which people with limited competence overestimate their abilities.

Everyone has bias, that's a part of being human. There's a difference though, between news that's slanted to the Left or the Right and news that is carefully censored and interspersed with outright lies. MSNBC may be biased, but they present unadulterated news. Just go back and look at their coverage of our withdrawal from Afghanistan.

They were neither kind to nor apologetic for President Biden.

Fox paid an EIGHT HUNDRED MILLION DOLLAR judgement for deliberately lying about the 2020 election and are facing another TWO AND HALF BILLION DOLLAR suit in the near future.

Doesn't that automatically eliminate Fox as a source of information for EVERYONE?

If you don't understand the difference between bias (MSNBC) and pure fiction (Fox), it's because you have forfeited your ability to think critically to the relentless drumbeat of anger and improbable theories presented as facts.

Robert Mueller's appearance before Congress in July of 2019 was a pretty big deal, despite Mueller's refusal to say anything other than, The report speaks for itself.

The Mueller Report was unprecedented and disturbing in its detail of a hostile, foreign government working blatantly and with great determination to interfere in our election and maneuver their favored candidate (Donnie Trump) into the Oval Office.

The report went on to detail almost a dozen different attempts on the part of a sitting president (Donnie) to interfere with the investigation and to obstruct justice.

Trumpanzees seem to believe that Mueller, a war hero and lifelong Republican was somehow working for the Democrats and doing it under a Republican president and his lapdog Attorney General.

Another acquaintance had convinced his wife - and probably himself - that Mueller's appearance before Congress was just politics. It was, in fact anything BUT just politics. Robert Mueller was not a political operative and his report - had said acquaintance bothered to read it - was both mind numbing and damning.

It's tragic for America's future that the Fox bubble is like a Roach Motel, where Roaches check in, but they don't check out.

It’s hard to understand how Trumpanzees can accept whatever Donnie tells them when all evidence screams the contrary and his words are blatantly capricious and as fluid as Trump Ice, one of his many failed companies.

Some people - whether they are simple-minded, uninformed or just gullible - are able to swallow the most ludicrous conspiracies because they don’t know how things work or how they’re supposed to work.

The knob jobs who think the 2020 election was stolen refuse to listen to voices of authority, voices that include Donnie’s best people, including members of his administration and his inner circle.

It’s astounding that anyone can think that the whole world is conspiring against their cult leader, that he is the only honest man, the serial philanderer sent by Jesus.

What some of these folks need is a trip to their local penitentiary or prison to talk to all the innocent folks there. Unfortunately, they won’t be able to talk to O.J. anymore.

In the words of Ricky Gervais, Remember, when you are dead, you do not know you are dead. It is only painful for others. The same applies when you are stupid.
