You're carving out the citizens of Gaza as a discreet population when, in fact, Israel is surrounded by some 475 million Arabs, all of whom share some degree of antipathy for Israel and Jews. Gazans just one of those communities, like Sunnis, Shiites and Christians and it is not only Iran who funds anti-West terrorism.
You seem to have omitted your plan for preventing the next Oct 7 from your comment, though. From a victim's perspective - any victim - don't you think that every last perpetrator of the crime needs to be punished? If they all surrendered, instead of hiding among a civilian population, the bloodshed and destruction could end.
The idea that Israel should show more compassion for Gazans than Hamas showed for Israelis and now their own citizens seems like an unfeasible double standard to me.
"You seem to have omitted your plan for preventing the next Oct 7 from your comment, though."
I know of no way to guarantee that there will never be another massacre of Jews by non-Jews other than exterminating all non-Jews worldwide. Is this a plan that works for you?
"... very last perpetrator of the crime needs to be punished? If they all surrendered, instead of hiding among a civilian population, the bloodshed and destruction could end."
So you are good with total extermination of Gaza since that is the only way to ensure that "very last perpetrator of the crime ... be [kill]ed".
"The terrorist attack of October 7, 2023 was the equivalent of twenty-two 9/11’s and the deaths of 66,000 Americans."
The Israeli response has been the equivalent of 3M - 33M American dead. Evidently proportional.
